Schiller Institute Conference on the Justified Hope for a Resolution of the War Dange

The Schiller Institute Conference held an online conference Feb. 19 under the title “100 Seconds to Midnight on Doomsday Clock — We Need a New Security Architecture!”. The first panel discussed the mindless march to war between nuclear powers taking place over the artificially created crisis in Ukraine, while the second panel addressed the means to achieve a new paradigm in international relations.

After a keynote by Harley Schlanger of The LaRouche Organization, participants heard from Natalia Vitrenko, Chairwoman of the Progressive Socialist Party of Ukraine (cf. below); Col. (ret). Alain Corvez, an international consultant and former Counselor for the French Defense and Interior Ministries; Jens Jorgen Nielsen, director of the Russian-Danish Dialogue and former Moscow correspondent for the Danish daily Politiken; James Jatras, former U.S. diplomat and former advisor to U.S. Senate Republican leadership; and Shakeel Ahmad Ramay, a political economist from Pakistan.

The second panel was opened by Helga Zepp-LaRouche, chairwoman of the Schiller Institute. She was followed by Dr. Wang Wen, Executive Dean of the Chongyang Institute for Financial Studies and Professor of the Silk Road School at Renmin University, who went through the historic agreement signed on Feb. 4, 2022 by China and Russia. Two guests from Ibero-America discussed the importance of infrastructure projects: Alejandro Yaya of the Civil Institute of Space Technology in Argentina, and Dr. Carlos Gallardo, President of the Christian Democratic Party of Peru. From the United States, there were also two speakers: Graham Fuller, author and former CIA operations officer for 25 years, as well as Tony Magliano, a Catholic social justice and peace columnist.
